I love the simplicity of a tone on tone card, but unfortunately it is a technique that I often overlook when it comes to creating. When I saw this stamp set I simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to try tone on tone stamping. I have added an element of elegance by combining tone on tone stamping with silver heat embossing.

This project uses the stunning Pretty Peacock card stock and ink and the gorgeous Enduring Beauty Bundle featuring the stamp set and matching dies, paired with the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set that you can earn for free when you purchase the bundle.

To make this card you will need the following materials.

Materials:

  • Pretty Peacock Card Base 29.7cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.85cm

  • Pretty Peacock Card Front 9.5cm x 12.5cm

  • Basic White Card Insert 14.35cm x 10cm

  • Basic White Card Scrap

  • Liquid Glue

  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

  • Bone Folder

  • Pretty Peacock Ink

  • Versamark Ink

  • Silver Embossing Powder

  • Heat Tool

  • Enduring Beauty Stamp Set and Matching Dies

  • Heartfelt Hellos Stamp Set

  • Simple Elegant Trim

  • Tear 'n' Tape

Instructions:

  1. Fold and burnish the Pretty Peacock card base using the bone folder.

  2. Using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp the large floral image from the Enduring Beauty stamp set 4 times around the edge of the card base. Stamp the bottom corner of the white card insert while using this ink.

  3. On the Basic White card scrap stamp your sentiment using Pretty Peacock Ink. Cut this out using the stitched boarder die found in the Enduring Beauty Dies.

  4. Attach the Basic White card insert using liquid glue to the inside of the card.

  5. Clean the stamp and using Versamark Ink stamp the large floral image on the Pretty Peacock card front. Sprinkle silver embossing powder over the ink and tap the excess powder off back into the container.

  6. Using the heat tool, continuously move the tool until all the powder has turned from a dull powder to bright and shiny.

  7. Cut a length of silver thread and loop it around on the back of the sentiment. Secure this with double sided tape.

  8. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals attach the embossed Pretty Peacock piece to the front of the card. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals attach the sentiment to the front of the card.

  9. The card is complete. You can stamp the inside or the envelope to match if you like.
